STATE MODEL
Five states with different operational consequences.
Ready is permission to begin a handoff, not proof of delivery. Superseded prevents accidental retry after a replacement exists.
Draft
Contents or destination context are incomplete; validation has not established readiness.
Failed validation
A named rule blocked release. Correction belongs to the source, rendition, metadata, or package owner.
Ready
Required contents and checks passed. A manual or API handoff may begin outside this public site.
Released
An operated workflow recorded the handoff method, receiver, and result.
Superseded
A replacement package carries the current release; this record remains for lineage and must not be retried.
RELEASE STATE INSPECTOR
A package state must expose its evidence and boundary.
